Kids' Poncho patterns?

I want to make a poncho for the daughter of one of my coworkers.

Can anyone recommend something fun and fast to knit? She's going into kindergarten and already has lots of style.

Poncho patterns....

I actually have a copy of this pattern if you think it qualifies. I have no idea how well the pattern is written. I only bought it for the description of one of the cable patterns.

If all else fails, simple ponchos are really just a square with a hole in the middle. The Yarn Harlot has a pattern for a standard poncho you could start with and then dress it up however you'd like. Maybe graduated stripes?

You can look at the Lion Brand Yarns free pattern section or somewhere such as www.woolworks.org's free pattern section. I would bet that one or both has children's poncho patterns

I know someone little who is very pleased to find out that someone is so interested in making them a poncho. I think her exact words were "Gosh mom she is soooo nice and talented." :}
